Carbon Credits
On April 12, 2009 Wind Project Amayo project was registered as Clean Development Mechanism to the Convention United Nations Framework on Climate Change (English United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, UNFCCC), which allows the Windfarm Amayo generating and selling carbon credits to Annex I countries Information regarding the project can be viewed via the website of the UNFCCC with the project name "Amayo 40 MW Wind Power Project - Nicaragua."
The first verification of carbon credits was finalized in October 2009 by the company TUV NORD, for a total of 42.871 CERs for the period from 12 April to 30 September 2009. Additionally, the project was recorded in a Retroactive validation process under the Gold Standard.
