For the construction of wind farm Amayo a study was conducted Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in 1999 and an update of the same in 2006, both conducted by a consulting firm with a multidisciplinary team and in accordance with environmental regulations of the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARENA). The airline covered by the EIA were:

Archeology, characterization of water bodies, climate, geology, geotechnical exploration, noise study, socio-economic survey, soil survey, type of use of vegetation and soils, and flora and fauna.

The EIA concluded that the wind project is environmentally viable since the project's benefits (for both the economy and environment) outweigh the negligible impacts on the physical and biotic environment in which developed the project. Additionally, the EIA looked Environmental Management Plan to mitigate those impacts, which was implemented during construction and during operation now.
